Abracom was created with the purpose to disseminate operational and professional parameters in the segment of corporate and business communication for customer, supplier, representative, government and community relationships. The Association also seeks to reinforce the communication agencies' share in the private market and expand its presence in the public sector.

Abracom objectives are:

Disseminate the corporate and business communication activity;
Contribute to organize and professionalize the industry;
Watch over the quality of the provided services;
Expand within public and private organization markets;
Set ethical operational parameters;
Define business criteria;
Provide visibility for the segment.

To meet these objectives, Abracom counts on the work carried out by the Association's directors and members through work groups and specific commissions. ABRACOM headquarters is managed by an executive secretary and an administrative coordinator who work under the president and the directors' leadership to cater for its members, divulge information and meet the objectives set by General Meetings and the Board of Directors.

ABRACOM directors meet every month at headquarters, and regional directors attend the meeting by electronic means. At the meetings, ABRACOM actions are reviewed and work goals are set.

Abracom publishes the Organizational Communication Notebooks to inform other industries of the best communication practices. It has also implemented Organizational Communication Indicators (ICO) to determine industry economic data on a quarterly basis.
